The first thing you’ll notice when you visit us is just how relaxed and calm everything is. We even offer relaxing aids such as TVs and iPod docking stations to help you. The main thing is though … we’ll never rush or pressure you and every step is taken at a pace you’re perfectly comfortable with. Initially, we will chat with you in one of our comfortable consulting rooms where we can get to know one another and we can discuss your worries about any treatment you may require.  

Very importantly … we can explain in full detail about how our nervous patients care works and we can tell you about some of the special measures we have taken to help you relax and feel comfortable. These include treatment under sedation and also The Wand, which provides totally pain-free anaesthesia. Our aim though is to help you overcome your fear of dentists so that you no longer dread the prospect of making an appointment. Or even worse, putting off urgently needed treatment than can mean a small problem escalates to become a painful nightmare.

If you need it we can provide either oral of IV sedation. (We also have pleasant-tasting inhalation sedation for young children). Sedation will aid relaxation and even though you remain fully conscious you will not remember much about any part of your treatment.

The Wand guarantees pain-free injections

Using The Wand, which operates at a low pressure we deliver an automated dose of anaesthetic. Many patients remark that they did not even realise they’d been injected.

To demonstrate just how seriously we take the subject of nervous patients Carisbrook Dental is registered with the Dental Phobia Organisation and the Dental Fear Organisation.
