Procedure

Getting porcelain veneers usually requires three trips to the dentist.

The first appointment will be for a consultation where the dentist will ensure that porcelain veneers are appropriate and discuss the procedure. Impressions and x-rays may also be taken for planning at this stage.

The second appointment involves preparation of the teeth. To do this half a millimetre of enamel is carefully removed from the tooth, followed by an impression of your tooth/teeth which is sent to the laboratory so the veneers can be created.

On the third appointment your new veneers will be fitted, they may need to be trimmed or adjusted. The teeth will be thoroughly cleaned and the veneers cemented into place to leave a beautiful winning smile.

If you are having a smile make over an additional stage maybe required. This stage involves preparing a diagnostic wax model of your projected results call a wax up. It lets our patients see the projected result before any tooth work is commenced. This stage helps plan your case and makes the results much more predictable and more importantly more beautiful.
