Relax … our fully proven sedation therapy will remove all your worries
It’s not uncommon and we fully understand that for many people a visit to their dentist means nerve-tingling anxiety that they find impossible to control. Don’t worry, at Carisbrook Dental we’re fully aware of these nervous patient symptoms and thanks to the very latest and most advanced sedation therapy we can ensure that even the most stressed-out patients remain calm and relaxed throughout their treatment. That’s just one of the reasons why at Carisbrook we’re known as ‘The Gentle Dentists’.
As a matter of fact, At Carisbrook, we offer not just one, but three different types of sedation therapy, each one of which is specially designed to meet the individual needs of our patients.
For children, we provide gentle inhalation sedation that is inhaled via a mouthpiece that also delivers a pleasantly sweet tasting flavour. As well as helping the child to relax and stay calm, we’ve found that they rather enjoy the experience. That’s why it is affectionately known as ‘Happy Air’.
When it comes to adults we provide two distinctly different sedation therapy options that we recommend dependent on the anxiety level of the patient and of course the complexity of the treatment they are about to undergo.
One of these options is Oral Sedation in which we provide two tablets: one to be taken the night before their treatment and the other to be taken about one hour before their appointment. Practically every patient who has oral sedation therapy reports that they experienced no nerves or anxiety during the treatment.
The other option, which we recommend for nervous patients or for patients about to undergo quite complex treatment, is Intravenous Sedation. Here we inject the sedative into the back of the hand and although they are still conscious, it is unlikely that they will recall anything about their treatment.
Let us reassure you; each of these sedation therapy procedures is one hundred per cent safe and we have used them literally thousands of times over the years without any ill effects.
If you are in any way concerned about your dental treatment, then please do not hesitate to speak to us about our sedation therapy.
A note of warning. If you do have any of our sedation therapy treatments, then we must advise you that you must not drive home and you must relax for the rest of the day. Please ensure that you get someone to drive you and on no account must you operate machinery, drink alcohol or make important decisions.
There is just one other point to make. Yes, we know that each of our processes works extremely well, but our intention – as The Gentle Dentists – is to try and build up sufficient trust so that patients feel that they do not require sedation therapy when they are treated by us.
Having said that, if you feel strongly that you do need sedation therapy please do not hesitate to talk to us about it.
