Too scared to go to the dentist?

Too scared to go to the dentist?

We can help you overcome severe dental phobia

Despite the massive advancements in dental treatments, techniques and technology, there are still thousands of people of all ages who quite literally are too scared to go to the dentist. In fact the fear of dentists can be so extreme that some people would rather suffer the agonies of tooth decay, toothache and painful gum disease rather than make a dental appointment.  This extreme fear is now a medically recognised condition. It is called ‘severe dental phobia’. But the good news is that at Carisbrook we have taken nervous patient care to an exceptional new level of excellence.

We fully understand that there are some people for whom a visit to the dentist will fill them with dread. That is why over many years we have developed a special service designed to put even the most nervous patients fully at ease. We have created a very relaxing and calming environment and over the last 50-years we have pioneered severe dental phobia techniques to help patients overcome their fears.

We’ve even gone much further than that… and we have developed special, caring techniques designed to make the entire experience so much more understanding, stress free and pain free.

It is not for nothing that Carisbrook is known as ‘The Gentle Dentists’ and as part of our severe dental phobia service we are registered with the ‘Dental Phobia Organisation’ and the ‘Dental Fear Organisation’. Both these bodies regularly vet dentists to ensure that they are thoroughly trained and are up-to-date with the very latest developments in severe dental phobia techniques.

One of our dentists – Dr Idrees – received a 5-Star Award from the ‘Dental Phobia Organisation’.

Severe Dental Phobia

Apart from our nervous patient care and our unique understanding of how severe dental phobia affects people, we have invested in the latest and most advanced pain management technology. This includes The Wand, which we use to deliver totally pain free injections (many patients tell us that they didn’t even realise that the anaesthetic had been administered). The Wand is proven to be far better than the traditional syringes used by other dentists.

For patients who suffer from severe dental phobia we can also provide sedation. This will help even the most nervous patients feel totally relaxed. So much so that even though they are very relaxed and co-operative, they will not remember anything about their treatment.

We are proud of our nervous patients success and we have found that even those patients with severe dental phobia quickly lose their fear of going to the dentist!
