How will the coronavirus crisis affect your dental health?
Some sensible advice from Carisbrook, the leading dentist Manchester practice
There is no getting away from it … the coronavirus crisis in the UK is now escalating day by day. The Government has announced that they will now broadcast daily updates in order to keep us fully abreast of the latest developments, plus of course they will provide health advice and news on personal and public restrictions all aimed at confining the spread of the Covid-19 infection. At Carisbrook Dental, as one of the leading dentist Manchester clinics, we know that we too have an important role to play in winning the battle to overcome this alarming public health emergency.
It now appears that a considerable percentage of the UK population (the elderly and most vulnerable) will very shortly be required to self-isolate in order to reduce their susceptibility and minimise any spread of the virus.
Hopefully family and friends will rally round to support those people unable to leave their homes. In the meantime at Carisbrook, as one of the leading dentist Manchester clinics, we can offer some valuable advice to help you care for the health of your teeth and gums throughout the duration of the emergency.
- Do not worry about missing your dental appointment.
If you have an appointment booked with us and you are unable to attend because of illness or self-isolation, just give us a call on 0161 766 4906 and we will cancel your appointment with a view to rearranging it for a later date.
- TOP TIP! Separate your family toothbrushes.
Most families store their toothbrushes in the same pot. This could easily lead to cross-infection so during the coronavirus emergency we would advise you to keep your family toothbrushes separate by storing them in individual plastic bags. You could also sterilize the brushes by immersing them in boiling water or heating them in the microwave.
- Don’t neglect the health of your teeth and gums.
It is important that you continue with your daily dental hygiene routine. Our cleaning advice is that you should brush your teeth for at least 2-minutes, twice a day, using a medium bristle brush and fluoride toothpaste.
- If you have a dental problem don’t hesitate to call us.
Obviously, at this moment in time, we are not certain how the future situation, restrictions and health regulations will affect our practice. If you have a dental problem, however, please do not hesitate to call us on 0161 766 4906. We will do everything we can in order to help … including assistance with dental emergencies.
At present no one knows just how the coronavirus will affect our daily lives. What is certain is that there will be difficult times ahead and at Carisbrook Dental we will continue to do everything within our power in order to maintain the level of expert dental care that you have come to expect from one of the top dentist Manchester clinics.
Our best advice is that if you do have a dental problem, even if you are restricted by self-isolation regulations, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our very best to provide the treatment and the advice that you need.
